About

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned. So as to have the life that is waiting for us.
The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come.
Joseph Campbell

Jen first began practicing yoga at the age of six in front of the television with Lilias Folan in the 1970s and has been practicing yoga in some form or another ever since. In the past decade, she has had the opportunity to study various styles of asana with many influential teachers and continues to fall more deeply in love with the practice every day. Over the past four years, Jen’s love for yoga has expressed itself through teaching, which is greatly influenced by her mindfulness meditation practice and her studies at Spirit Rock Meditation Center with her vipassana teacher Jack Kornfield. Most recently inspired by the yin-based teachings of Sarah Powers, Jen’s heart-centered vinyasa classes support every student in finding compassion, grace and ease at their edge. A true believer in the power of yoga to heal and transform, Jen encourages the awareness of breath and movement to liberate body, mind, and heart.

Silence is the ultimate and best teacher, because in silence is the neverending welcoming to do that which our human heart truly desires, which is to always be with our knees on the floor, always be in that sort of devotion to Truth. Silence is the only teaching and the only teacher that is there all the time. Every minute that you are awake, every minute that you are alive, every minute that you breathe, it's right there.
